Prayers by the Month & Gratitude Journal

Some people like to work on a monthly prayer focus, beginning with a design from an adult coloring book (available now in almost any store); you can write in prayer requests or names as they come up during the month. Then you can add more words or just color as you pray.  If you find it distracting to color and pray ( like you are thinking more about what color to use and not the prayer), try limiting yourself to 3-4 colors for that particular page.  At the end of the month you can look back to remember and see how God is working in your life.

Ann Voskamp offers free monthly Counting Gifts pages, or create your own on lined paper, or a blank page. In Her book One Thousand Gifts, Ann shares how the result of daily gratitude is a joyful heart. Committing to the habit of writing down one gratitude each day, might just help your heart to remember even a difficult day with joy and thanksgiving.

Monthly prayer and counting gifts

Diane Marra combined her monthly prayers and counting 1000 Gifts into one 11x15 journal. She used stencils to add a design in pencil to each right handed page, and then each day colored, or painted the designs along with prayer.
